Same product. Three Amazon regions. A UK seller pays $8,760/year more than a US seller — on the same listing.

A $34.99 Running Shirt on Amazon US. The published fees are $10.61 for every seller. But a UK-established seller pays an additional $0.73/unit in currency conversion and Digital Services Tax that a US seller doesn't face. At 1,000 units/month: $8,760/year more on the identical product. The rate card is the same. The cost isn't.

What this means for your business

Which region should I expand to?

UK FBA is cheaper per unit on this product (£2.95 vs $4.66 US including fuel). The subscription is £25/month vs $39.99/month. But if you're a UK seller expanding to the US, you'll pay 1.5% currency conversion and 2% DST that US sellers don't face — $8,760/year at 12,000 units that the rate card never shows.

Does the answer change across my catalogue?

Size tiers are completely different between US and UK/EU. A product classified as Large standard in the US might be a Standard parcel in the UK. Different classification, different rate card, different cost. The analysis classifies every product against every region's size tier system.

What does expansion actually cost?

A UK seller adding Amazon US faces the Digital Services Fee (2% on US selling and fulfilment fees). A US seller adding Amazon UK pays no DST but encounters a completely different fee structure. The costs of expansion are asymmetric.

Pan-EU or EFN — which path costs less?

EU sellers face a choice: Pan-EU (distribute inventory across EU FCs, lower per-unit fees, more complexity) or EFN (fulfil from one country, higher cross-border fees). The cost difference is significant and product-dependent. We map both paths.

What changes between regions — and what doesn't

What stays the same: The referral fee rate is 15% for Home & Kitchen across all three regions. The fee structure — referral + fulfilment + storage + surcharges — is the same shape. Same platform, same logic.

What changes: the rate behind almost every line — plus a set of fees that only exist in certain regions.

A UK-established seller pays 2% on selling and fulfilment fees across every Amazon marketplace. On this product with ~£7 in combined fees on Amazon UK: £0.14 per unit. At 2,400 units/year: £336 in fees that a US seller does not pay. Across three marketplaces (UK + US + DE), the DST accumulates on every sale.

Most international sellers don't discover this fee until it appears on their settlement. US-focused tools don't track it because it's $0 for their users.

EU-specific: Pan-EU surcharges, EFN fees, CEP participation

Sellers in the EU face additional fee layers that don't exist in the US or UK:

Pan-EU oversize surcharges — additional per-unit fees for oversize items distributed across EU fulfilment centres. Varies by size tier and destination country.

EFN (European Fulfilment Network) fees — cross-border fulfilment fees when inventory stored in one EU country fulfils orders in another. Significantly higher than local fulfilment.

CEP (Central Europe Programme) non-participation surcharge — €0.26 per unit if the seller doesn't opt into Central European distribution.

Low-Inventory Cost Coverage Fee — applies to sellers with low inventory-to-sales ratios across Pan-EU. Multiple weight bands and supply thresholds.

A seller expanding from US to EU encounters an entirely new fee layer. The analysis maps every EU-specific fee and computes the cost of each fulfilment strategy — Pan-EU vs EFN vs single-country — for every product.

The same lever works differently in each region

Fulfilment method. On Amazon US, FBA vs FBM is a $4.76 per-unit decision on this product. On Amazon UK, the gap is different — different fulfilment rate, different surcharge rate. The trade-off calculation is region-specific.

Programme enrolment. SIPP exists across US, UK, and EU — but the discount amounts differ by region. A SIPP discount of $0.06 in the US might be £0.02 in the UK. The certification is the same. The value differs.

Size tier boundaries. The US size tier system uses inches and ounces. The UK/EU system uses centimetres and grams. A product that fits comfortably in one system's tier may be borderline in another's. Packaging changes that save money in the US may not affect the UK classification at all — or may have a bigger impact.

Every product is mapped against every region's size tier system, rate card, and programme structure. The analysis is region-specific because the fee structures are region-specific. A single set of numbers applied across regions is wrong.
